Where facts come from
Product facts come from the published data for that exact item. They are extracted and written into the page by a script rather than typed, which removes the most common source of error on a site with hundreds of product pages.
If the data does not state something, the page carries no line for it. That is why one product page shows a weight and the next does not, and it is deliberate.
Counts and arithmetic
The pack count is read from the manufacturer's own product title, not counted by us and not rounded. The per-piece figure is our own division of our own price by that count, so it is arithmetic rather than a claim. Products whose description states no count carry none.
What we never do
- We do not invent reviews, ratings or testimonials.
- We do not invent a company history, a factory, a team or a founding date.
- We do not publish a warranty, delivery promise or stock figure, because those are not ours to state.
- We do not publish a compliance statement about an individual product.
- We do not fill a missing specification with a typical value.
Sources
The safety sections rest on the regulations themselves rather than on a summary of them. Every source is opened and read before a sentence is written against it, and the read date is printed next to the link. The full register is on our sources page, and the method is set out under methodology.
Prices
Prices are updated on a schedule and every page carries the date of the last update. A suspicious change is held back for a person to look at rather than published automatically, and a product with no buyable price reads Currently unavailable rather than showing an old figure.
Photography
Photographs are shown at their own size and never enlarged. That is why the tiles on this site are modest rather than full width. An enlarged photograph is a worse photograph in a bigger file, and it is not a trade we make.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, write to contact@leinuosen.net. We check it against the published data and fix the page. Corrections are made quietly and quickly rather than argued about.
